Todays first meeting after Christmas was focussed on the interim exhibition - a very exciting prospect! Seeing pictures of the space and hearing Jonathan describe it and how it has been used previously got me thinking about how to present my work. My initial idea was to make a series of small prints which would be displayed in a grid style in separate frames as I presumed that would be the easiest way to present them, but having seen pictures and heard about the exhibition space this might actually not be the best way, and certainly not the most exciting.
There is the possibility to hang work from high railings so it sits slightly in front of a white wall. There is also the possibility of hanging work from hooks in the ceiling. I thought that both of these solutions might enable me to explore a longer hanging piece.
Alternatively there is the option to build a frame, mount work on it and lean the frame against the wall.
Finally there is the possibly to have framed work hanging on a 'false' wall, the more 'traditional' approach.
I need to have a good think and consider not only the presentation but the transport of what I might want to include. At the moment I'm wondering about something that could be rolled in a tube and then free hang from the ceiling... lots to think about!
